Essay Prompts
- Using context clues, describe the Rhame family. How big is it? What religion are they? How well off are they?
- Do you think Iris or Collette is the dominant force in their friendship? Explain why.
- Sergeant Wood says that the police only looked for Elijah Landry because his grandfather was the Parish president. What do you think he meant by that?
- Compare and contrast Mrs. Thacker and Old Mrs. Landry. How are they alike? How are they different? Do you think they would be friends?

Fiction Prompts
